Sussex County Land Trust Named as Beneficiary of Dogfish Dash

The Sussex County Land Trust is honored to once again serve as the nonprofit beneficiary of the 2025 Dogfish Dash, scheduled for Sunday, September 28, 2025. Hosted at Dogfish Head’s Milton Brewery, this beloved annual 3.81-mile road race winds through historic Milton and draws nearly 2,000 participants, making it one of the region’s most anticipated and well-attended race events.
Dogfish Head has a long-standing tradition of partnering with nonprofit organizations, donating all race proceeds to support their missions. Following a successful partnership in 2024 that raised over $100,000, the brewery has once again selected the Sussex County Land Trust as this year’s beneficiary. Funds raised will continue to support the Trust’s mission of preserving open space, protecting natural and cultural resources, and enhancing public recreation across Sussex County.

As this year’s featured nonprofit, the Sussex County Land Trust invites members of the public, businesses, and other organizations to join in supporting its cause through a variety of sponsorship opportunities. Sponsorships start at just $500. For more information on how to become a sponsor, please scan the QR code below or visit https://bit.ly/SCLTDFHDash.
In addition to its involvement in the Dogfish Dash, the Sussex County Land Trust recently launched a new donor partnership program designed to expand opportunities for individuals, businesses, and organizations to leave a lasting legacy. Through this program, supporters can secure naming rights for amenities, trails, and recreational features across Trust-owned properties throughout Sussex County. The initiative provides critical funding to help develop and maintain parks, preserves, and open spaces for public use.
Among the newest additions are Stephen P. Hudson Park near Milton and Nanticoke Crossing Park near Seaford – two parks created through strong community partnerships that reflect the Trust’s mission to enhance public access to natural spaces. With several additional parks currently in development, the new donor program offers a meaningful way to invest in conservation efforts and connect future generations to the outdoors.
